Assam Secretariat Recruitment 2024
The Assam Public Service Commission has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 17 posts of Stenographer (Grade-II) in the Assam Secretariat (Janata Bhawan) under the General Administration Department. Candidates who meet all the specified eligibility criteria, as outlined in the official notification, will be eligible to submit their online applications for recruitment through the official web portal of APSC.

Assam Secretariat Recruitment Details
Name of Post: Stenographer Grade-II
No of Posts: 17 Posts
- Stenographer Grade-I (English): 11 Posts
- Stenographer Grade-I (Language): 06 Posts
Educational Qualification: The candidate must have completed a Degree Examination or an equivalent examination from a recognized University.
Essential Qualification: No candidate shall be eligible to sit for the speed test at 100 w.p.m in English and 90 w.p.m in Language (Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi), unless he/she had passed the speed test at 80 w.p.m in English and 70 w.p.m in Language (Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi) conducted by the Board, constituted and recognized by the Government.
Pay Scale: Pay Band-3, Rs.22,000/- to 97,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs.9,400/-.
Age Limit: The candidate’s age should be at least 21 years and not more than 38 years as of 1st January 2023.
Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation, categorized by groups, will be as follows.
Note: The age limit of the candidates will be calculated based on the Matriculation/ HSLC Admit Card issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council which is to be uploaded while filling up the online application. No other document shall be accepted.
Application Fee: Candidates who have decided to submit the online application form for this recruitment will need to pay the application fee to complete the application process. The amount of the application fee is mentioned below.
