ARBAS 2020

Anundoram Borooah was the first civil servant of Assam. The Assam government had announced an award scheme in his name in 2005. The scheme name is Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme. In short this scheme is widely known as ARBAS scheme. Under the ARBAS scheme, the government tried to enhance education by creating a competition among the students and students were also motivated due to this award scheme. In the history of Assam, this scheme is one of the most successful and corruption free scheme which has inspired many students to perform better in their HSLC/AHM examinations.

Eligibility Criteria of ARBAS

Qualification & Percentage: Students who have secured Star Marks or 75% or more in HSLC, Higher Madrassa and FM Examinations conducted by SEBA and State Madrassa Education Board, Assam are eligible to submit application for this scheme.

Passing Year: The student has to qualify his/her qualifying examination with the mentioned percentage in 2020.

Name of Board: Only those students who have passed their qualifying examination from SEBA and State Madrassa Education Board, Assam are eligible to submit application for this scheme.

Contents of ARBAS Laptop Award Scheme

This scheme is only for the students of Assam who have passed their class 10th examination under SEBA and State Madrassa Education Board, Assam. From 2017, the minimum marks to qualify for this award scheme has been revised from 60% to 75%. Now, students need to secure minimum 75% marks in their qualifying examination to be eligible for ARBAS scheme.

Award Value: Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the government has decided to transfer money instead of distributing esteemed laptops. In 2020, the government transferred 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) to each eligible student’s bank account as a reward for their performance in the 10th examination.

Date of Award Distribution: The government has started transferring the prize money to the bank accounts of all eligible students from 3rd December 2021.

How to Online Apply for ARBAS Scheme?

Students who fulfill the above eligibility criteria of Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme are able to submit their online applications on the official portal of ARBAS, Assam. Also, students can follow the steps listed below to complete their online registration of ARBAS.

  • Scroll down, check Important Link‘s section.
  • Click on Online Application Link.
  • Now, an official portal will load in a new window.
  • Enter your Roll Code, Roll No, Total Marks and click on Submit.
  • Now, you have to fill all the asked details and click on Save.
  • After this you have to upload some documents.
  • After uploading the documents you have to submit your application.
  • You will get an acknowledgment after submitting the application.
  • Keep that acknowledgment for future use.

Required Documents to Complete Application Process

Some scanned and verified documents have to be uploaded on the application portal while submitting the online application for Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme. The list of those documents is given below.

Anundoram Borooah Laptop Distribution Date

This year award distribution has been started from 3rd December 2020. Due to COVID-19, the government has not organized any award distribution ceremony for this year. All the award winners will receive the award money in their bank accounts and the confirmation will be sent to their registered mobile numbers.
