Agriculture Department Recruitment 2021

External Examination Cell, Gauhati University has issued an official notification regarding the recruitment of total 1837 posts of Grade-III and Grade-IV under Agriculture Department, Assam, Khanapara and its Districts Offices. Agriculture Department Recruitment Details

1. Agriculture Extension Assistant

No of Posts: 1581 Posts

  • Unreserved: 876 Posts
  • OBC/MOBC: 496 Posts
  • ST (H): 43 Posts
  • ST (P): 65 Posts
  • PwD: 14 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary from a government recognized board or council.

Preference: Preference will be given to those candidates who have passed in Science stream and hold Rural Back Ground Certificate.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

2. Junior Assistant

No of Posts: 200 Posts

  • Headquarter: 47 Posts
  • District Level: 153 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Also, the candidate is required to have a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

3. Stenographer

No of Posts: 08 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Also, the candidate is required to have a Grade-I Stenography Diploma with minimum speed of 80 words per minutes (English) and a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.8,700 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

4. Steno-Typist

No of Posts: 05 Posts

  • English: 04 Posts
  • Assamese: 01 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary from a government recognized board or council. Also, the candidate is required to have a Stenography Diploma with minimum speed of 80 words per minutes and a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

5. Electrician

No of Posts: 04 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed HSLC or Matriculation from Government recognized Board or Council. Also, the candidate is required to have a 2 years Diploma in Electrical from Government ITI.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

6. PI/FI/FS/Computor

No of Posts: 24 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary from Government recognized Board or Council with Statistics, Economics or Mathematics as one of the subject.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

7. Mechanic (Jute)

No of Posts: 06 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed HSLC or Matriculation from Government recognized Board or Council. Also, the candidate is required to have a 2 years Diploma in Mechanical from Government ITI.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.5,600 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

8. Grade-IV

No of Posts: 09 Posts

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed 8th class from a recognized institute or school.

Pay Scale: Rs.12,000 – Rs.35,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs.3,900 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Other Details of Agriculture Department Recruitment

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 40 years as on 1st January 2021.

Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Application Fee: There is no application fee for this recruitment.

Nationality: Candidate must be citizens of India as defined in the Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and permanent resident of Assam.

Selection Process of Agriculture Recruitment

Candidates whose application are found correct in all respect will be called for Written Test i.e. First Phase Test which will be conducted at any convenient venue(s) depending upon the numbers of candidates. The candidates will have to appear for the First Phase Test at the venue mentioned in his/her call letter. However, the Chairman, Selection Committee, Directorate of Agriculture, Assam reserves the right to change the venue (s)of the test as necessitated and no representation etc. will be entertained in this regard.

1. Written Test

The recruiting authority will conduct the written test as the first stage exam for this recruitment. All the candidates who have submitted their applications for this recruitment have to participate in that written test. Below, we have provided the short description of that written exam along with the syllabus.

Type of Exam: Written Test (OMR)

Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

No of Question: 100 MCQs

Duration of Exam: 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

Total Marks: 100 Marks

Negative Marking: There will be negative marking of 1⁄2 marks for each wrong answer.

Type of Pen: Candidates have to use black ballpoint pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet.

2. Skill Test

The second stage examination will be a computer based test to test the knowledge of the posts applied for and proficiency in computer operation and will be a shorthand test for the candidates who have applied for the post of Stenographer and Steno-Typist.

Documents Upload Guide

Candidates who have met the eligibility criteria for Department of Agriculture, Assam Recruitment 2021 are required to upload several documents to complete the online application process. 1. Passport Size Photograph

Applicant has to upload his/her recent passport size photograph fulfilling the below mentioned criteria.

  • Photograph must be in colour and taken in a professional studio. Photograph taken using a mobile phone and other self-composed portraits are not acceptable.
  • Photograph should be taken in white or very light background.
  • The photo must have been taken after 1st January 2020.
  • File format must be JPEG.
  • The file size should be less than 35 KB.
  • Height of photograph must be between 250 pixel to 320 pixel.
  • Width of photograph must be between 150 pixel to 220 pixel.

2. Signature

Applicant has to upload his/her recent scanned signature fulfilling the below mentioned criteria.

  • Signature must be in black or dark blue ink on a white paper.
  • File format must be JPEG.
  • The file size should be less than 30 KB.
  • Height of signature must be between 100 pixel to 180 pixel.
  • Width of signature must be between 150 pixel to 220 pixel.
  • Mobile phone photograph of signature is not acceptable and can result in disqualification of the application.

3. Other Documents

Applicant has to upload all other documents except photograph and signature by fulfilling the following criteria.

  • The file size should be less than 200 KB.
  • File format must be JPG or JPEG.
  • Height of document must be between 500 pixel to 800 pixel.
  • Width of document must be between 400 pixel to 600 pixel.
