IOCL Nursing Admission 2026
Indian Oil Corporation Limited, through its Assam Oil Division at Digboi, has started the online application process for admission to the General Nursing and Midwifery course for the 2026-27 session. The application window for 30 GNM seats at Assam Oil School of Nursing remains open from 12 August 2026 to 31 August 2026.
Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences declared the GNM Entrance Examination 2026 result on 5 August 2026. Candidates who appeared in GNMEE-2026 can now apply with their entrance examination roll number and total marks.
The B.Sc Nursing application process for Assam Oil College of Nursing was conducted from 21 July 2026 to 11 August 2026 and has now closed. Admission to that course is based on the CEE-2026 result.
Both nursing institutes are located near IOCL (AOD) Hospital in Digboi. They operate as CSR-funded projects of Indian Oil, with preference given to applicants from economically weaker sections. Selected students receive a monthly stipend, free hostel accommodation, a uniform, and medical attention at AOD Hospital during the course.

Six seats in each course are reserved for candidates belonging to the Digboi Legislative Constituency. Such candidates must produce the prescribed residence and voter identity documents. One B.Sc Nursing seat is also reserved for an Orthopaedically Handicapped candidate with locomotor disability of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity.
Note: As per the SSUHS notification dated 4 August 2023, 50% of the seats in private nursing colleges under SSUHS are filled through Common Online Counselling. IOCL has sought an exemption for AOCN and AOSN. Admission to the remaining seats is subject to approval by the competent authority.
Eligibility Criteria
GNM: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with English and obtained at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination. Three core elective subjects are counted while calculating the percentage, excluding English, but the candidate must have pass marks in English. Science candidates are preferred, although Science is not compulsory.
Candidates who passed 10+2 with English and secured 40% in a vocational ANM course or the Health Care Science stream can also apply. Registered ANM candidates with pass marks from the State Nursing Registration Council are eligible. SC and ST candidates receive a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks as per Indian Nursing Council norms.
B.Sc Nursing: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Science and obtained at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together. The required aggregate is 40% for SC, ST and OBC candidates. English is compulsory, and the candidate must pass Theory and Practical separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Candidates from a State Open School or the National Institute of Open Schooling with Science and English are also eligible for B.Sc Nursing. Colour-blind candidates can apply if they use colour-corrective contact lenses or spectacles.
Common Conditions: Only female candidates can apply. Married candidates are eligible, but every candidate must be medically fit.
Candidates holding higher professional qualifications such as B.E., B.Tech, MBA, CA, CS, CMA, LLB, MCA or PhD are not eligible. Possession of an equivalent higher professional qualification at the time of joining may lead to cancellation of admission.
Age Limit
The minimum age for admission is 17 years as on 31 December 2026, while the upper age limit is 35 years. SC and ST candidates receive an upper-age relaxation of 5 years, and OBC-NCL candidates receive 3 years. Registered ANM candidates applying for GNM have no upper-age bar.
For B.Sc Nursing, PwBD candidates receive an upper-age relaxation of 5 years irrespective of seat reservation. Only the Class 10 marksheet or certificate issued by a recognised Board of Secondary Education is accepted as proof of age. You can use the Age Calculator to check your age on the cut-off date.

Free hostel accommodation, a uniform, and medical attention at AOD Hospital are provided during the course. Staying in the nursing hostel is compulsory for selected students.
After passing the course, candidates must complete a one-year working internship at AOD Hospital or another Indian Oil hospital. IOCL may extend the internship by up to two years. The monthly internship stipend at AOD Hospital is ₹16,250 for B.Sc Nursing and ₹15,250 for GNM. An additional ₹1,000 per month is paid when an intern is posted at another Indian Oil hospital.
Note: Accommodation is not provided during the internship, and Indian Oil has no obligation to offer regular employment after completion of the course or internship.

The income certificate must be issued by a competent Revenue Authority not below the rank of Circle Revenue Inspector or another authorised officer. It must show the gross joint annual income of the candidate’s family from all sources. An affidavit is not accepted as income proof. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for document verification and a medical examination.
