SSUHS BSc Nursing Admission 2026
The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) has released the official notification for the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 on 10 March 2026. This entrance exam will be used to select candidates for admission into BSc Nursing, D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and Allied & Healthcare (BSc Medical Technology) courses at both Government and Private Institutes across Assam.
The online application forms are available on the SSUHS website from 20 March 2026. Candidates have time until 12 May 2026 to complete and submit their applications. The entrance exam is scheduled for 7 June 2026.
Note: This article covers admission details for the BSc Nursing course only. The same CEE 2026 exam also applies to D.Pharm, B.Pharm, and Allied & Healthcare courses with separate eligibility criteria.
SSUHS has extended the last date for online application from 30 April 2026 to 12 May 2026. Admit cards will now be issued from 25 May 2026. The exam date remains unchanged at 7 June 2026.

Total Marks: 100 Marks (25 marks each in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)
Total Questions: 100 Objective Type MCQs
Question Standard: HS (10+2) Science level
Subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (all four are mandatory for BSc Nursing candidates)
Qualifying Marks: The minimum qualifying criteria or cut-off score for the BSc Nursing Entrance Examination will be notified at the time of declaration of results.
Merit Preparation and Tie-Breaking Rules
Merit will be based on total marks obtained across all four subjects. If two or more candidates score the same total marks, their ranking will be decided in the following order: first, the candidate with higher marks in Biology; then Chemistry; then Physics; then English. If the tie still remains, the marks obtained in HS (10+2) qualifying examination will be considered in the same subject order during counselling.
Eligibility Criteria for BSc Nursing
Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens.
Residency: A Permanent Resident Certificate is mandatory for admission in the Government Institutes of Assam.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) with Science stream. They must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. English must be a pass subject. Candidates from State Open School recognized by the State Government and NIOS recognized by the Central Government are also eligible, provided they have Science subjects and English. The candidates must pass both Theory and Practical individually in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Appearing Students: Students who appeared for their HS (10+2) Science examination in 2026 and are awaiting results can also apply. They will be provisionally allowed to appear in the entrance exam. Once the results are declared, they will need to upload their HS (Science) marks on the online portal.
Gender: Male candidates are not eligible for admission in Government Institutes of Assam. However, male candidates can appear in the entrance exam for admission into private sector institutes.
Age Limit: The minimum age for admission is 17 years on 31 December 2026. The maximum age limit is 35 years. You can use the Age Calculator to check your age as on the required date.
Other: Colour blind candidates are eligible if they wear colour corrective contact lenses or spectacles. Married candidates are also eligible. The candidate must be medically fit.

The examination fee is non-refundable and must be paid online through the payment gateway available on the University website.
Reservation of Seats
Seats in Government Institutions will be reserved for SC, ST(P), ST(H), OBC(NCL), TGL, Ex-TGL, EWS, PwD (Divyang), and NEC category candidates from the available seats as per Government norms. Candidates applying under a reserved category will need to furnish original certificates from the Competent Authority at the time of counselling.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official SSUHS website (www.ssuhs.in). The application window is open from 20 March to 12 May 2026. Here are the steps to follow:

Note: No choice of subjects can be changed once the online application is submitted. Also, candidates are not required to send any documents to the University. All verification of documents regarding eligibility, reservation, etc. will be done at the time of counselling.
