How to Apply for the Ishan Uday Scholarship?
Starting from the 2024-25 session, the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has introduced a One-Time Registration (OTR) process for students. Consequently, the procedure for submitting online applications for the Ishan Uday Scholarship has been revised and divided into two main phases. In the first phase, students are required to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). In the second phase, students will use the OTR ID to submit their applications for the scholarship.
One-Time Registration (OTR)
In the first phase, students are required to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR), which is currently available on the portal. After completing the One-Time Registration (OTR), students will receive an OTR ID. This unique OTR ID will enable them to submit applications for various scholarships. It’s important to note that each student will receive only one OTR ID, which is generated uniquely for them.
Requirement for OTR: Candidates will need to have an active mobile number.
Aadhaar Requirement: Aadhaar is mandatory for completing the One-Time Registration (OTR). If Aadhaar has not been assigned to the student, they can use their Enrollment ID (EID) for Aadhaar to complete the registration process. In the case of a minor student who has not been assigned an Aadhaar yet, the registration can be completed using the Aadhaar of their parent or legal guardian.
eKYC: Completing eKYC is a mandatory step to obtain NSP OTR. Students can utilize the NSP OTR app, available on the Google Play Store, to complete their face authentication for eKYC.
Scholarship Application Form
Students who have obtained their One-Time Registration (OTR) ID will be able to submit applications for various scholarship schemes, including the Ishan Uday Scholarship. Students will need to log in to the application portal using their One Time Registration (OTR) ID and password to apply for the Ishan Uday Scholarship. After logging in, students must carefully complete all the presented steps, which may require entering their present and past course details along with other primary information. Once all steps are completed, the final application submission option will become visible, and students need to click on that option to submit their application. Additionally, they may need to contact their colleges or universities for further processing.

Selection Process of Ishan Uday Scholarship
The selection under the scheme is done purely on the basis of state-wise merit among the candidates who have applied for the scholarship online through the National Scholarship Portal of the Government of India.
In case of a tie, where more than one candidate has similar marks in their Class XII examination, the list will be further shortlisted based on marks obtained in Class X. If there are still more candidates in the merit list than the available slots, further shortlisting will be done based on the age of the candidates, with older candidates being given preference.
The result is typically declared in November or December of the same year by NSP. Candidates will be able to check their results on the National Scholarship Portal using their OTR ID and Password generated during the online application process. The results will also be uploaded on the UGC website at www.ugc.ac.in/notices.
