Assam HSLC Rechecking of Answer Scripts
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Div-I, has released an official notice regarding the rechecking of answer scripts and the obtaining of scanned copies of OMR sheets with answer keys for the HSLC Examination 2026. The Assam HSLC Result 2026 was declared on 10 April 2026. Candidates who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for rechecking through the official website sebaonline.org.
The online application portal for rechecking will open two days after the declaration of the result. Candidates will have 15 days from the date of portal opening to submit their applications. No offline applications will be accepted, and incomplete applications will be rejected outright.
Note: Rechecking does not mean re-evaluation of the answer scripts. It only covers re-totaling of marks, assessment of any unevaluated answers, and correction of wrong entries.

Application Fee: Students willing to submit applications for the rechecking of the answer scripts used during the Assam HSLC Examination, 2026 will have to pay the applicable amount of fee as application fee to submit their applications. The applicable application fee details will be as follows.
- Rechecking and Scanned Copy of the Answer Script: ₹400/- per subject
- Scanned Copy of OMR with Answer Key: ₹50/- per subject

What Does Rechecking Include?
The Board has clearly stated that rechecking is not the same as re-evaluation. When you apply for rechecking, the Board will only verify the following three things:
- Re-totaling of marks awarded by the examiner.
- Assessment of any answer(s) that were left unevaluated.
- Correction of wrong entry of marks of any kind.
If there is any change in marks after rechecking, the Board will issue a revised Certificate. You will need to submit the original Certificate to the Board’s office through your school’s Head of Institution. The Board will not send revised marksheets directly to candidates.
Students who fail in one or two subjects after the rechecking process may be eligible for the HSLC Compartmental Examination, which the Board usually conducts a few weeks after the main result declaration.
Two Types of Applications Available
The Assam State School Education Board offers two separate services through the portal. You can apply for either one or both, depending on your need:
A. Re-checking of Answer Scripts with Scanned Copy
This option is for subjects that have descriptive (theory) questions, including MIL and Elective subjects. Along with rechecking, you will also receive a scanned copy of your evaluated answer script through email. The fee for this service is ₹400 per subject. This covers theory papers only; the OMR portion is excluded.
B. Scanned Copy of OMR Sheet with Answer Key
If you want to check your OMR responses against the official answer key, you can apply for this separately. The fee is ₹50 per subject. The scanned OMR sheet along with the answer key will be sent to your email within 30 days from the last date of receipt of applications. You will also need to upload an undertaking (in the prescribed format) along with a scanned copy of your original Admit Card.

General Instructions for Applicants
Before applying, candidates should carefully read the following instructions issued by the Board:
The application portal will open two days after the declaration of the HSLC 2026 results. You must apply within 15 days from the date the portal opens. Applications submitted without fee payment or those that are incomplete will be rejected. No one else can submit the application on your behalf; such proxy applications will also be rejected.
The answer scripts are treated as confidential documents and do not fall under the RTI Act, 2005 until the re-checked results are declared. A separate RTI application is not needed.
Candidates must give an undertaking that the scanned copies of answer scripts or OMR sheets will not be shared with any institution, school, media house, or used for any commercial purpose. Violating this instruction can lead to legal action. The scanned copy also cannot be challenged in any court of law.
The Board’s decision on the marks awarded will be final and binding.
