Gauhati University is a well-known higher education initiation in Assam. Every year, Gauhati University conducts an entrance test called Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) to select meritorious students for admission to various postgraduate courses. Similarly, the short notification regarding the GU PGET 2023 has been released by the university on 27th May 2023. According to the official notification, the Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET)-2023 will be conducted in 9 centres of North Eastern states for admission to postgraduate courses under Gauhati University and affiliated colleges for the academic year 2023-2024.

Eligibility Criteria of GU PG Admission
Gauhati University will accept the application for Post Graduate Entrance Test, 2023 through the official online application portal. Students who satisfy the following eligibility criteria and are willing to complete their postgraduate course from Gauhati University will be able to submit their online applications on the GU portal. | For new CBCS: For the students who are passing out this year under the new CBCS course, there is no requirement of Honours /Major course for admission into a postgraduate course in any subject. All you need is a minimum credit of 24 (twenty-four) in the concerned subject (for traditional subjects) to be eligible to seek admission. |
| For non-CBCS: BA/ BSc/ BCom (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major/honours courses in the concerned subject or B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with a general pass course with at least 45% Marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. [45% Marks is to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part I and Part II of the (2+1) pattern and part I, part II and Part III of the (1+1+1) pattern are eligible to seek admission to the University. However, certain specific eligibility criteria have been fixed by the concerned departments and these are applicable especially for the interdisciplinary subjects. |
Other Details of GU PG Admission
Application Fee: Candidates have to pay a non-refundable Rs.1000/- for one subject, Rs.1500/- for two subjects and Rs.2000/- for three subjects as an application fee to complete their application for the Post Graduate Entrance Test to be conducted by Gauhati University. Payment of the application fee is to be done through the online mode of payment.
