Dibrugarh University PG Admission
Dibrugarh University, established in 1965, is one of the leading public state universities of Assam and a major centre of higher education in the region. Each year, the university conducts a common admission test to select candidates for its postgraduate programmes. For the 2026-27 academic session, the test has been notified as the Dibrugarh University Admission Test (DUAT) 2026. The DUAT 2026 will be conducted on 29 and 30 June 2026 in two shifts each day across 11 test centres in Assam. Candidates qualifying through DUAT can secure admission into the 2-year Post Graduate Programme or take lateral entry into the Fourth Year (7th Semester) of the Five-Year Integrated Post Graduate Programme (FYIPGP) at the university and its affiliated and autonomous colleges.

Application Fee: Applicants must pay an application fee of ₹1050/- (Rupees one thousand fifty only) at the time of submitting the form. Payment is accepted only through the online gateway using a Debit (ATM) Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking. The university does not accept any other payment method.
Exam Pattern of DUAT 2026
The DUAT 2026 is a single-paper OMR-based test of 2 hours’ duration with 100 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of 1 mark each, totalling 100 marks. The question paper is set in English, except for the language subjects. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.
Note for Mathematics Subject: The DUAT for Mathematics is of 150 marks and 2 hours duration with 75 Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of 2 marks each. There is a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each incorrect response in Mathematics.
Eligibility Criteria of DUAT 2026
Candidates seeking admission through DUAT 2026 must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed for the programme they are applying to. The general eligibility requirements for the major programmes are listed below.
Lateral Entry to 7th Semester of FYIPGP: Candidates must have successfully completed the 6th Semester of the FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020 with a minimum of 60 Credits in the subject applied for admission.
Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc): Candidates must meet any one of the following criteria.
| Bachelor’s Degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject, securing at least 45% marks or equivalent grade point. |
| Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in the case of candidates from the General Programme, or equivalent grade point. |
Master of Commerce (MCom): Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with Major/Honours in the concerned subject securing at least 45% marks, OR a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate for candidates from the General Programme.
MSc in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/Institution in Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Medical Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade point. Candidates who have successfully completed the 6th Semester of the FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020 are also eligible.
MA in Mass Communication and MA in Women’s Studies: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 45% in Major/Honours or aggregate, or have successfully completed the 6th Semester of the FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020.
MA in Applied Psychology: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (excluding Fine Arts), including a Medical degree and other Technical Graduates, from Dibrugarh University or any other UGC-recognized University with at least 45% marks in Major/Honours or 50% in aggregate. Candidates who have successfully completed the 6th Semester of the FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020 are also eligible.
Master of Education (M.Ed.): Candidates must have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in B.Ed., B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. (Integrated), B.El.Ed., or D.El.Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each). The M.Ed. programme is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Master of Computer Application (MCA): Candidates must have passed B.C.A./ B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE)/ B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or an equivalent degree. Alternatively, candidates with any Graduation Degree (B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc./B.Com./B.A./B.Voc., etc.), preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level, securing at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) are eligible. Students without a Mathematics background must complete a one-year compulsory bridge course.
Master in Travel and Tourism Management (MTTM): Candidates must hold a Graduation Degree (any branch/subject except Fine Arts and Music) of minimum three years duration from a recognized University/Institute, securing at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in Major/aggregate.
Note: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing in the 6th Semester Examination of the FYUG/Integrated PG Programme under NEP 2020 in 2026 and are awaiting their results are also eligible to appear in DUAT 2026. Such candidates must submit their final grade sheet/mark sheet within the stipulated deadline notified by the University.

DUAT 2026 Exam Schedule
DUAT 2026 will be conducted in two shifts on each of the two test days. A candidate may apply for a maximum of 4 subjects, but cannot select more than 1 subject from the same shift. The shift-wise subject schedule is given below.

How to Apply for DU PG Admission?
Candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate programmes at Dibrugarh University need to submit their application for DUAT 2026 through the university’s official online portal. The university accepts applications only in online mode, and offline submissions are not entertained.
To begin, candidates need to visit the DUAT 2026 portal at www.dibru.ac.in and register by clicking the “Register” button. Registration requires the candidate’s name, mobile number, and a password. The mobile number is verified through an OTP. After successful registration, candidates can log in using their mobile number and password.
After login, click the “Apply” button corresponding to the “DUAT 2026” link, select the programme for admission, and complete the application form step by step with personal details, academic qualifications, and the choice of subject. While filling the form, applicants need to upload a recent passport-size photograph and a scanned signature in the format and size specified by the university. Use the image resize tool to resize the photograph and signature as per the prescribed dimensions before uploading.
After filling out the form, click “Submit and Review” to preview the application. Cross-check all information carefully and edit if needed. Once everything is correct, click “Pay now & Submit the application” and pay the application fee of ₹1050/- through online mode (Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking).
The application form is treated as finally submitted only after successful payment of the fee and generation of an online receipt. Candidates can download a copy of the submitted form for their records. Admit cards will be available for download from the same portal a few days before the exam date, and a notification regarding admit card availability will be published on the Dibrugarh University website.
Note: The University does not verify candidate eligibility at the time of receiving applications or issuing admit cards. Candidates not fulfilling the minimum eligibility may appear in DUAT 2026, but their candidature will not be considered at the time of admission.
Selection and Admission Procedure
Appearing in DUAT 2026 is mandatory for all candidates. After the result, candidates need to apply separately for admission through the SAMARTH portal with their valid DUAT score. Admission to the relevant programmes at Dibrugarh University is granted in descending order of DUAT 2026 scores, in accordance with the candidates’ stated preferences.
