Union Bank Recruitment 2026
Union Bank of India has released the Union Bank Recruitment Project 2026-27 notification for 395 officer posts in the General Banking and Specialised segments. The vacancies are spread across five cadres, from Manager in MMGS-II up to Deputy General Manager in TEGS-VI, and all appointments are on a regular basis. Online registration started on 21 July 2026, and the last date is 10 August 2026.
The recruitment covers 127 separate post codes, 19 under General Banking numbered G01 to G19 and 108 under the Specialist Officers segment numbered S01 to S108. Each post code carries its own age limit, qualification, certification and experience requirement, and a candidate is allowed to apply for only one post code. If more than one application is submitted, the bank retains only the last valid application, so it is worth confirming the exact post code before you pay the fee.
This is a lateral entry recruitment rather than a fresher intake. Every post code asks for post-qualification work experience, ranging from 3 years at the Scale II level to 15 years at the Scale VI level, and experience gained in the clerical cadre is not counted for this purpose.

Selection Process of Union Bank Recruitment
For posts up to Scale III, selection may involve an online examination, a group discussion if required, and a personal interview. For posts in Scale IV, V and VI there is no online examination in the normal course, and selection may be through a group discussion, any other test or assessment, and a personal interview. The bank decides the actual combination based on the number of eligible applications received.
Online Examination Pattern
Candidates for the Specialist Officers segment, that is post codes S01 to S108 up to Scale III, sit a single professional knowledge paper.
| Test | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional Knowledge | 50 | 100 | 60 min |
Candidates for the General Banking segment, that is post codes G01 to G19 up to Scale III, sit a longer paper of 120 minutes.
| Test | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 25 | 60 min |
| Reasoning | 25 | 25 | Composite |
| English Language | 25 | 25 | Composite |
| Professional Knowledge | 50 | 100 | 60 min |
| Total | 125 | 175 | 120 min |
For the General Banking paper, the Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English Language sections are qualifying in nature and the marks secured in them are not counted for the final merit. Only the Professional Knowledge score carries forward. Every wrong answer costs one fourth of the marks assigned to that question, while a question left blank attracts no penalty. The minimum qualifying mark in each section is 40% for General and EWS candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates. All tests except the English Language paper are available in both English and Hindi.
Personal Interview
The personal interview carries 100 marks and assesses academic and job knowledge, clarity of thought, leadership qualities, communication skills and overall suitability for the post. You need at least 50 marks if you are a General or EWS candidate and 45 marks if you belong to a reserved category. Candidates are called for the interview in the ratio of 1:3 against the number of vacancies, and in case of a tie in the final merit list the older candidate is placed higher.
