Supreme Court Recruitment 2026
The Supreme Court of India has invited online applications from Indian citizens to prepare a panel for 250 tentative vacancies of Junior Court Assistant, a Group-B Non-Gazetted post in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix. Eligible candidates can apply online from 7 October 2026 to 28 October 2026 through the official website of the Supreme Court of India.
The number of posts is tentative and may change. The Registry also reserves the right to cancel, restrict or modify the selection process without issuing any notice.

Pay Scale: Level 6 of the Pay Matrix with an initial Basic Pay of ₹35,400 plus allowances.
Application Fee: ₹1,500 for General/Unreserved candidates and ₹750 for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen and Physically Challenged candidates, plus bank charges. The fee is paid online through the UCO Bank payment gateway and is non-refundable.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in India, with knowledge of computer operation and a typing speed of 35 wpm on a computer.
Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 1 September 2026. Age relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Physically Challenged and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India rules, and up to 5 years for dependents of freedom fighters. There is no upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry, while employees of other government departments, PSUs and nationalised banks get no relaxation.
Reservation: As per Rule 4A of the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961.
Exam Centres in Assam: Guwahati and Dibrugarh (Objective Type Test only). The Typing Test and Descriptive Test will be held in Delhi/NCR, and the interview will be online or in physical mode in Delhi.
Selection Process
Selection will be made through four stages. Candidates must clear the minimum qualifying marks in each stage to move ahead.

Shortlisting: Candidates will be called for the Typing Test and Descriptive Test in the ratio of 1:10 against the vacancies, based on the Objective Test merit list. Those who clear all three tests will be called for the interview in the ratio of 1:3.
Typing Test Rules: Mistakes up to 3% of the total words typed are allowed. A wrong word or figure counts as a full mistake, while a capital/small letter error or an omitted, added or wrong punctuation mark counts as half a mistake.
Descriptive Test Evaluation: Answer sheets will be checked only for candidates who qualify the Typing Speed Test.

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Answer Key: The answer key will be uploaded on 22 November 2026. Objections can be raised online until 23 November 2026 at 11:55 PM with a fee of ₹100 per objection, which is refunded if the objection is found valid.
