SSC CGL Recruitment 2026
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026. Through this examination, SSC will fill approximately 12,256 vacancies in various Group B and Group C posts across different Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. Online applications are open from 21 May 2026, and eligible graduates can apply till 25 June 2026.
SSC CGL is one of the largest central government recruitment examinations in India. Posts under this notification cover Pay Level 4 to Pay Level 8, with monthly pay ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹1,51,100. Candidates can apply for posts like Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Inspector (CBIC), Sub-Inspector in CBI and NIA, Junior Statistical Officer, Auditor, Accountant, and Tax Assistant, among others. Pay Scale: Pay Level 4 to Pay Level 8 (₹25,500 to ₹1,51,100 per month, depending on the post)
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute. Specific posts such as Junior Statistical Officer require at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Statistics as a subject at degree level. Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer have desirable qualifications like CA, CMA, CS, M.Com or MBA (Finance). Candidates in the final year of graduation may also apply, but must possess the qualification as on 1 August 2026.
Age Limit (as on 01-08-2026): The age range varies by post: 18 to 27 years, 18 to 30 years, 20 to 30 years, or 18 to 32 years. Use the Age Calculator to verify your eligibility. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10 years), Ex-Servicemen, and other reserved categories as per government rules.
Selection Process: Two-tier Computer-Based Examination: Tier-I and Tier-II. Tier-II includes Paper-I (compulsory), Paper-II for JSO and Statistical Investigator candidates, and Paper-III for AAO/AAO candidates. Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) are part of Tier-II Paper-I and are qualifying in nature.

Fee payment can be made online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa/MasterCard/Maestro/RuPay Debit Cards. The last date for online fee payment is 23 June 2026 (23:00 hours). Fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.
SSC has also notified a correction window from 29 June 2026 to 1 July 2026. A correction charge of ₹200 applies for the first correction and ₹500 for the second correction, regardless of category.

Tier-I questions are Objective Type, Multiple Choice, and set in both English and Hindi, except for English Comprehension. Negative marking of 0.50 marks applies for each wrong answer.
Tier-II Exam Pattern
Tier-II has three papers. Paper-I is compulsory for all posts and includes Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning & General Intelligence, English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge Test (qualifying), and Data Entry Speed Test (qualifying). Paper-II is for Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II candidates only. Paper-III is for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer candidates. Negative marking is 1 mark for Paper-I (Section I, II, III) and 0.50 marks for Paper-II and Paper-III.
How to Apply for SSC CGL Recruitment 2026?
Applications must be submitted only in online mode through the SSC portal or the my SSC mobile app. Candidates who do not already have a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website must complete OTR first, as OTRs from the old website will not work.
