The State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) for Class-III Posts has invited online applications for 72 posts of Field Assistant (Statistics)/Enumerator under the Integrated Sample Survey (ISS) in the Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Assam. Eligibility Criteria of SLRC Recruitment
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university in any subject with at least one paper in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Social Science, Sociology or Psychology at graduate level. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject qualify if they obtained 50% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard.
Language Requirement: Candidates must have studied English and any one of Assamese, Bengali or Bodo as subjects during HSLC.
Computer Qualification: Candidates must have computer knowledge, be comfortable entering data through a handheld device, and hold a Computer Course Certificate of at least 6 months from a government-recognised institute. The certificate must be uploaded with the application.
Employment Exchange: A valid Employment Exchange registration certificate in Assam is required.
Citizenship: Applicants must be Indian citizens as specified in the advertisement.
Age Limit: Candidates must be 21 to 40 years old as on 1 January 2026. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC, 10 years for PwBD and 2 years for Ex-servicemen candidates.
Age Proof: Age will be determined from the HSLC/Class X pass certificate or admit card issued by a recognised Board or Council, provided the age or date of birth is clearly shown. The Commission will not accept another document for this purpose.
Reservation Documents: Candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC/MOBC reservation need a caste certificate issued by the competent Assam authority. PwBD candidates need a certificate showing at least 40% benchmark disability. Ex-servicemen applying for reserved posts must upload their Ex-servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office in Assam and their Discharge Book.
Other Conditions: Candidates in regular government service must produce a No Objection Certificate when asked. Applicants must submit the Small Family Norms declaration in Form-A when asked. Those seeking consideration under the Assam Public Services (Preferential Appointment) Rules, 1999 must indicate their choice in the application portal.

Selection Process
On 14 October 2026, the SLRC, Assam has released a notification regarding the selection process, exam pattern and exam zones for the Field Assistant (Statistics)/ Enumerator posts. Selection will be done in two stages.
Stage-I (Written Exam): OMR-based written examination of 175 marks with 150 multiple-choice objective questions. The duration will be 3 hours. Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:2 of the vacancies for the next stage, as per merit and reservation.
Stage-II (Computer Skill Test): Computer skill test of 25 marks for candidates shortlisted in the written exam.
Final Selection: Final selection will be based on the total marks secured in the written exam and the computer skill test, as per merit and reservation.

Note: The subject-wise number of questions is approximate and may vary slightly, but the total will remain 150 questions.
Negative Marking: One-fourth of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Marking more than one option will be treated as a wrong answer.
Question Paper Language: Assamese, Bengali, English, Bodo and Hindi.
Scribe for PwBD: Terms and conditions for using a scribe or reader will be notified later.
Computer Certificate Exemption: Candidates with BCA, B.Tech in Information Technology, or an Engineering degree with a paper on Information Technology or Computer Application do not need a separate computer certificate or diploma. They must still appear in the computer skill test if shortlisted.
Exam Centre Zones
Candidates must choose one zone for the written exam. The Commission will try to allot a centre in a district within the chosen zone but may allot a centre outside it due to administrative reasons.
