SBI PO Admit Card 2026
The State Bank of India has completed the online application process for the recruitment of Probationary Officer, which ran from 18 June 2026 to 8 July 2026 for 1,500 posts. The next step for every candidate is the call letter for the Preliminary Examination, which is issued from 22 July 2026. The Phase-I online preliminary examination is scheduled for 2 August 2026. The call letter is issued in online mode only. You have to log in with your registration number and password or date of birth and download it.

Documents Required at the Examination Centre
Call Letter: A clear printout of the downloaded call letter with a recent passport-size photograph pasted on it. The photograph must be the same one you uploaded during online registration.
Photo Identity Proof: Aadhaar, PAN card, passport, driving licence, voter ID card, bank passbook with an attested photograph, or an identity card issued by your school, college or a gazetted officer on official letterhead. Carry the original along with a self-attested photocopy, because the photocopy has to be handed over to the invigilator with the call letter. A candidate whose identity is in doubt is not permitted to appear for the test.
Two Additional Photographs: The same photograph as the one pasted on the call letter. Candidates who report without the photograph on the call letter and without these two extra copies are not allowed to appear in the preliminary examination.
Scribe Declaration Form: Only for candidates who opted for a scribe. The form is downloaded separately along with the call letter, and it is collected at the centre during the preliminary exam.
Note: Keep around 8 copies of the uploaded photograph with you. The same photograph is needed at every stage of this selection process, from the preliminary exam to the interview.
Examination Centre Information
Reporting Time: Reach the centre on or before the reporting time printed on the call letter. Candidates who arrive after the reporting time are not allowed to enter the examination hall under any circumstances, and no request in this regard is considered.
Centre Allotment: SBI can allot a centre other than the one you opted for, and it can also cancel or add centres depending on the response. No request for a change of examination centre, date or session is entertained. The number of centres for the main examination is limited, which is why the main exam centre in Assam is Guwahati only.
Custody of the Call Letter: The preliminary exam call letter is not collected at the venue. The centre staff will check, authenticate, and stamp it, and you must keep it safely along with the stamped copy of your ID proof, since both are required again at the main examination.
Biometric Verification: The Bank may capture your photograph, thumb impression or IRIS scan in digital format at various stages. Any inconsistency between the impressions taken at different stages leads to rejection of candidature, so do not apply mehandi, ink or any chemical on your hands before the exam.
Banned Items: Mobile phones even in switched-off mode, smart watches, cameras, bluetooth devices, pen drives and any other electronic or storage device are not allowed inside the examination premises. Carrying them can lead to cancellation of candidature and a ban from future examinations.
SBI PO Selection Process
Selection for the SBI PO post follows a three-phase process: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Personal Interview.
The Preliminary Examination (Phase I) is an online objective test carrying 100 marks. It has three sections: English Language (40 marks, 20 minutes), Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks, 20 minutes), and Reasoning Ability (30 marks, 20 minutes), with a total duration of one hour. There is no sectional cut-off in the Preliminary Examination. Approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on the aggregate merit list.
The Main Examination (Phase II) consists of an Objective Test (200 marks, 3 hours) and a Descriptive Paper on Communication Skills (30 marks, 30 minutes). The Descriptive Paper requires candidates to write on Emails, Situation Analysis, and either Reports or Precis Writing typed on the computer immediately after the Objective Test. Each section of the Objective Test has a separate time limit.

Candidates must clear both sectional and aggregate qualifying scores in the Main Examination to be shortlisted for Phase III. Up to three times the number of vacancies will be called for Phase III.
In Phase III, shortlisted candidates appear for a Psychometric Test (for personality profiling), Group Exercise (20 marks), and Personal Interview (30 marks). The final merit list is prepared by normalising marks from Phase II (weighted at 75) and Phase III (weighted at 25), for a total out of 100. Marks from the Preliminary Examination are not counted in the final selection.
Negative Marking: A penalty of 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question is deducted for each wrong answer in both the Preliminary and Main Examinations. Questions left blank carry no penalty.
Number of Chances: UR/EWS candidates may appear a maximum of 6 times; UR(PwBD)/ EWS(PwBD)/ OBC/ OBC(PwBD) candidates up to 9 times. SC/ST candidates have no restriction. Note that appearing in the Main Examination counts as one chance; appearing only in the Preliminary does not.
