SBI Apprentice Recruitment 2026
The State Bank of India (SBI), through its Central Recruitment & Promotion Department, has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for engagement as Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A total of 7,150 training seats are on offer across 34 States and Union Territories under advertisement number CRPD/APPR/2026-27/07. Online registration is open from 19 May 2026 to 15 June 2026, and the online examination is tentatively scheduled for July 2026.
For Assam, 368 training seats have been allocated, with engagement options across districts, including Kamrup Metro, Dibrugarh, Cachar, Nagaon, Kamrup Rural, and others. Candidates can apply for only one state and can appear in this examination only once under this engagement project. Applicants should be proficient in any one of the specified local languages of the state they are applying for.

Selection Process
Selection will be based on an online written test followed by a test of the local language. Final engagement is subject to verification of eligibility documents and a medical fitness check by the Bank.
The online written test is objective in nature and carries 100 marks across four sections, each timed separately for 15 minutes. There is a negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned for every wrong answer.

The local language test is conducted for shortlisted candidates after the online written examination. Candidates who can produce a Class 10 or Class 12 mark sheet or certificate showing they have studied the opted local language are exempt from this test.

Before applying, candidates must register on the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. NAPS registration is mandatory and has to be completed first. After that, candidates can submit the SBI online application by following the steps below.

Note: Hard copy of the application is not to be sent to SBI. Candidates can apply for engagement in only one state, and multiple applications will lead to only the last valid one being retained while the fees paid for the earlier ones stand forfeited.
