RRB Group D Result 2026
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conducted the Computer Based Test (CBT) for CEN 08/2024 from 27 November 2025 to 10 February 2026, covering 32,438 Level 1 posts across Indian Railways. Over 1.08 crore candidates had applied for this recruitment, and around 60 lakh appeared for the exam across multiple shifts and centres. The CBT ran for 90 minutes with 100 questions; each correct answer carried one mark, and one-third of a mark was deducted for a wrong one.
RRB released the CEN 08/2024 result on 1 July 2026 on the official websites of all zonal RRBs. What’s out right now is the list of candidates provisionally shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). RRB has picked candidates equal to three times the community-wise vacancies for each Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), excluding PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and CCAA candidates already accounted for in that community. This is not the final selection list; it only confirms whether you have cleared the CBT stage.
The declaration was held up for months by a case in the Telangana High Court over how much weightage Act Apprentice marks should carry in the final merit list. With that case now disposed of, RRB has gone ahead with the result, though 15 posts remain reserved until the writ petition is finally settled. Individual scorecards, showing raw marks, normalized marks, and category-wise status, went live by 6 PM on the same day and will stay downloadable until 16 July 2026 (11:55 PM).

What Happens After the RRB Group D Result?
Candidates named in the shortlist move next to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which is qualifying in nature and carries no marks of its own. Unlike the CBT, RRB does not conduct the PET directly. It is handled zone-wise by the Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) of the respective zonal railways, along with Document Verification, the Medical Examination, and the final panel. NFR candidates, for instance, will hear from RRC Guwahati, not RRB Guwahati, for their PET call letter and schedule.
PET dates have not been announced yet, but earlier RRB communications point to August 2026 in offline mode. PwBD candidates are exempted from the PET altogether and move directly to document verification, though they still need to clear the medical exam. Everyone else gets a single attempt at both the weight-lift and the run; there’s no retest if you fail either one.

CBT Qualifying Marks
The minimum qualifying marks for the RRB Group D CBT vary by category. Candidates need to secure at least the following percentage to be considered for the next stage:

PwBD candidates may get a relaxation of up to 2 marks in the qualifying percentage if there is a shortage of candidates against the reserved vacancies. Since the CBT was conducted in multiple shifts, RRB converts raw marks into a normalized score for each shift, and it is this normalized score, not the raw one, that decides the final merit list.

When the result is out for your zone, follow these steps:

| Look for the notice titled “08/2024 Result and Shortlisting of Candidates for CEN 08/2024” under Important Announcements. |
| Click on it and the result PDF listing 16-digit roll numbers of shortlisted candidates will open. |
