The Indian Air Force published an official notification on 25th June 2025, announcing the recruitment of Agniveer Vayu vacancies under the Agnipath Scheme. Age Limit: Candidates born between 2 July 2005 and 2 January 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2026. If a candidate successfully clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment must not exceed 21 years.

Examination Fee: Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of ₹550/- plus GST while registering for the online examination. Payment can be made online through Debit Cards, Credit Cards, or Internet Banking using the payment gateway.

Educational Qualification

Science Subjects: Candidates applying for the Science Subjects category must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:

They should have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Alternatively, they should have completed a Three-Year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English was not a subject in the Diploma Course.
Candidates who have passed a Two-Year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects such as Physics and Mathematics from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) are also eligible, provided they have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English was not a subject in the Vocational Course.

Other than Science Subjects: Candidates applying for the Other than Science Subjects category must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:

They should have passed the Intermediate/ 10+2/ Equivalent Examination in any stream or subjects from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Alternatively, candidates who have completed a Two-Year Vocational Course from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course are also eligible. If English was not a subject in the Vocational Course, they must have secured 50% marks in English in Intermediate/Matriculation.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates who qualify for the online test will be shortlisted for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the official web portal. The PFT will include the following tasks:

Running: Complete 1.6 km within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.

Push-ups: Complete 10 push-ups within the stipulated time.

Sit-ups: Complete 10 sit-ups within the stipulated time.

Squats: Complete 20 squats within the stipulated time.

Note: Candidates must bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants for the Physical Fitness Test.
