The Indian Air Force has released an official notification for the recruitment of Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2026 under the Agnipath Scheme. Applications are invited from unmarried Indian male and female candidates.

Age Limit: Candidates born between 1 January 2005 and 1 July 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2026. If a candidate successfully clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit as of the date of enrolment must not exceed 21 years.
Examination Fee: Candidates are required to pay an examination fee of ₹550/- plus GST while registering for the online examination. Payment can be made online through Debit Cards, Credit Cards, or Internet Banking using the payment gateway.
Educational Qualification
Science Subjects: Candidates applying for the Science Subjects category must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:
They should have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. |
Alternatively, they should have completed a Three-Year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English was not a subject in the Diploma Course. |
Candidates who have passed a Two-Year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects such as Physics and Mathematics from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) are also eligible, provided they have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English was not a subject in the Vocational Course. |
Other than Science Subjects: Candidates applying for the Other than Science Subjects category must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:

How to Apply for Agniveer Vayu Recruitment?
To apply for the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2026, candidates must visit the official portal at https://agnipathvayu.cdac.in during the application period from 7 January 2025 to 27 January 2025. Candidates must also provide their AADHAAR number, except for those from J&K, Assam, Meghalaya, and Ladakh, who can use alternate ID proofs.

Online Test of Air Force Recruitment
Candidates who submit online applications for Indian Air Force Recruitment are required to appear for an online test. Provisional admit cards will be issued to eligible candidates 48 to 72 hours before the exam, and notifications regarding the same will be sent to their registered email addresses. Candidates must download their admit cards, take a colour printout, and carry it to the examination centre on the day of the test as specified in the admit card to be eligible to appear in the selection test.
Marking Pattern: One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Note: Candidates must bring a blue/black pen and their original AADHAAR card for the Phase-I testing.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Candidates who qualify for the online test will be shortlisted for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the official web portal. The PFT will include the following tasks:
Running: Complete 1.6 km within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
Push-ups: Complete 10 push-ups within the stipulated time.
Sit-ups: Complete 10 sit-ups within the stipulated time.
Squats: Complete 20 squats within the stipulated time.
Note: Candidates must bring their sports shoes and shorts/track pants for the Physical Fitness Test.
