The Intelligence Bureau (IB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has announced a notification for the direct recruitment of Indian nationals to the post of Security Assistant (Motor Transport) {SA(MT)}. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 455 vacancies across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) in the country.

Pay Scale: Level-3 of the pay matrix (₹21,700 – ₹69,100) plus admissible Central Government allowances. A Special Security Allowance at 20% of basic pay and cash compensation for duty performed on holidays (up to a ceiling of 30 days) are also applicable.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

Desirable Qualification: Possession of a valid driving licence for Motorcycle issued by the competent authority.

IB Recruitment Selection Process
The selection process for the Security Assistant (MT) post will consist of two tiers:
Tier-I (Online Exam): This will be an objective type MCQ test of 100 marks, with a duration of 1 hour. There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each incorrect answer. The exam will be divided into five parts:

Tier-II (Motor Mechanism & Driving Test cum Interview): Candidates shortlisted from Tier-I will be called for this test, which is for 50 marks. This tier is qualifying in nature, and candidates must secure a minimum of 20 marks to pass. It will test the candidate’s practical knowledge of vehicle mechanics, ability to remove minor defects, and driving skills.
Final selection will be based on the combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, subject to the candidate qualifying in Tier-II.

How to Apply for IB Recruitment?
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications online through the official Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) website or the National Career Service (NCS) portal. The application process involves two main steps: registration and completion of the application form.
Applicants must first register themselves by providing personal and contact details to receive a login ID and password. After registration, they must log in again to fill in the detailed application form, including educational qualifications and other necessary information. Candidates are required to upload a recent passport-sized photograph (50-100 kb, not older than 12 weeks) and a scanned copy of their signature (50-100 kb).
Finally, candidates must pay the applicable application fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. After successful payment, a confirmation will be generated, and candidates are advised to take a printout of the final application form for future reference.
