How to Apply for GU Certificate?
Students who have completed their studies at Gauhati University can submit their certificate application through the university’s official online portal. If you have recently passed out, you may need to wait until after the convocation ceremony. Before the convocation, the portal generally accepts applications only from students who want to receive their certificate at the ceremony itself, and those applications usually carry a higher fee.

Step 1: Create your application account
First, you need to create a new account on the GU certificate portal. This is separate from your academic account. Have your registration certificate, scanned passport-size photograph, scanned signature, and a valid ID proof ready before you begin. All uploaded documents must be 100KB or less in size.
You can resize your photo and signature to meet the size requirement if needed.
Step 2: Log in and start your application
After registration, you will receive a Registration ID starting with “GRD”. Note this ID down carefully, it is different from your Gauhati University Registration Number and is only for the document application process.
Go back to the application form link and log in using your GRD Registration ID. Your default password is your date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Step 3: Fill in document details
Once logged in, go to the dashboard and click on “New Request Document” from the left-hand menu. Here, you will select the certificate type, enter your course details, year of passing, GU Roll Number, and college name.
Step 4: Upload required documents
After filling in the details, a document upload section will appear. Upload all mandatory documents marked with a star (*). You will likely need scanned copies of your mark sheets, registration certificate, and admit cards.

After uploading your documents, you will be redirected to the fee payment page. Pay the applicable fee using the available online payment options. Once payment is successful, your application gets submitted and an acknowledgment is generated.
