GHC JAA Exam Pattern
The Stage 1 written test was an OMR-based objective-type examination with a total of 120 marks and a duration of two hours. The exam was divided into two parts:
Part A (100 Marks): This section included General English (50 marks), General Knowledge including Computer Knowledge (30 marks), and General Aptitude (20 marks). The marks obtained in this part will be considered for preparing the merit list.
Part B (20 Marks – Qualifying): This section tested the official language of the state of Assam (Assamese), carrying 20 marks. Candidates needed to score at least 40 percent (i.e., 8 marks) in this part to qualify. However, the marks from this section will not be counted for the merit list preparation.
Negative Marking: There was a negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) mark for every incorrect answer in the examination.
District-wise Vacancy Distribution
The 367 vacancies are distributed across various districts of Assam with category-wise reservations including Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe Plains (STP), Scheduled Tribe Hills (STH), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), and Other Backward Class/More Other Backward Class (OBC/MOBC). South Salmara Mankachar has the highest number of vacancies, with 26 posts, followed by Charaideo with 25 and Kamrup (Metro) with 22.
Selection Process
