DSE Recruitment 2024
The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam has issued two official notifications regarding the recruitment of Post Graduate Teachers (PGT). On behalf of the Inspector of Schools in the respective districts, the Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the positions of Post Graduate Teachers in Government and Provincialized Secondary Schools.

Name of Post: Post-Graduate Teachers

- Government Secondary School: 102 Posts
- Provincialized Secondary School: 1385 Posts
Name of Organization: Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam
Educational Qualification: The applicant must be a Post Graduate in a concerned subject with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognized University and should possess a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) qualification from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. Degrees obtained in off-campus and distance education mode shall not be considered valid.
Pay Scale: Rs.22,000/- to Rs.97,000/- including Grade Pay of Rs.11,800/- per month with other allowances as admissible as per rule.
Age Limit of Assam PGT Recruitment
Age Limit: The age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years as of 1st January 2023.
Age Relaxation: The category-wise upper age relaxation will be as follows.

Note: The age limit of the candidates will be calculated based on the Matriculation/ HSLC Admit Card/ Certificate issued by a recognized Board/ Council, and no other document shall be accepted in lieu thereof for the purpose
Other Criteria of DSE Recruitment
TET Recruitment Test: Candidates are required to appear for and pass the Teachers Eligibility Test and Recruitment Test, which will be notified in due course.
Medium of Instruction: In addition to the academic and professional qualifications, the candidate must satisfy the following criteria regarding the medium of instruction.
In the case of Assamese Medium Schools, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent Examination with Assamese Language as one of the subjects or have a Diploma in Assamese Language issued by the Axom Sahitya Sabha or read up to HSLC level in Assamese Medium Schools. |
In the case of Bengali Medium Schools, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent Examination with the Bengali language as one of the subjects or have in the Bengali Language issued by the Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya Sanskriti Sammetan or read up to HSLC level in Bengali Medium Schools. |
In the case of Hindi Medium Schools, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent Examination with Hindi language as one of the subjects or read up to HSLC level in Hindi Medium Schools. |
In the case of Bodo Medium Schools, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent Examination with Bodo language as one of the subjects or read up to HSLC level in Bodo Medium Schools. |
In the case of English Medium Schools, the candidate must have passed HSLC or equivalent Examination with Alternative English as one of the subjects or read from Class XI onwards in English medium Schools. |
Note: Provided that for recruitment of teachers for teaching MIL subjects the candidate who passed the HSLC Examination with a particular MIL Subject shall be considered.

TET Recruitment Test
Candidates are required to appear for and pass the Teachers Eligibility Test and Recruitment Test, which will be notified in due course. The pattern of the test is as follows.

Examination Venue: Cachar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kamrup, Kamrup Metro, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari and Sonitpur
Type of Question Paper: There will be a single common question paper for all Post Graduate Teacher recruitment vacancies, regardless of subjects.
Ratio of Qualified Candidates: The number of qualified candidates in the TET Recruitment Test shall be in a 1:1 ratio to the advertised vacancies.
Preparation of Merit List: Separate Merit Lists will be prepared stream-wise for Post Graduate Teachers. The marks obtained in the TET Recruitment Test by candidates in a specific stream will be extracted from the main list and compiled into a separate Merit List for that stream. This process will be repeated for all other streams. If any post remains vacant after the initial publication of the first Merit List following the 1:1 ratio, a maximum of 2 (two) additional Merit Lists will be released.
