DHE Combined Merit Scholarship 2025
The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam has published an official notification regarding the fresh award of the Combined Merit (Degree and Master) Scholarship for the academic session 2024-25. This scholarship scheme is exclusively available for male students of Assam. Eligible and intending students are invited to submit their applications through the official DHE online portal.
Under this scheme, male students pursuing 1st Semester General Degree and 1st Semester General Master Degree courses in recognized institutions are eligible to apply. The online application process is commenced on 8 November 2025 and the last date for submission is 20 November 2025.

Quantum of Financial Assistance
The financial assistance provided to the selected students under this scholarship scheme is as follows:
For UG Course: ₹450 per month
For PG Course: ₹500 per month
Eligibility Criteria for DHE Scholarship
Domicile: The male student must be a domicile of Assam.
Eligible Courses: Male students pursuing 1st Semester General Degree and 1st Semester General Master Degree courses in Arts, Science, or Commerce disciplines in provincialized/ Govt. Colleges or State/ Central Universities of Assam for the session 2024-25 are eligible.
Bank Account: The student must have a valid and active bank account in their name, preferably with SBI. The Bank Name, Account Number, Branch Name, and IFSC Code must be provided during the application process.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
For Combined Merit Degree Scholarship: A minimum of 60% marks in the Higher Secondary Final Year examination.
For Combined Merit Master Degree Scholarship: A minimum of 60% marks in the General Degree Course.
Selection Process
The selection of beneficiaries will be made strictly on the basis of merit in all cases. The number of scholarships awarded will be restricted as per the budget allocation for the scheme. Applications that are incomplete, contain misinformation, or provide an inactive account number will be subject to cancellation.
How to Apply for DHE Combined Merit Scholarship?
Intending students who fulfil the aforementioned eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship through the official DHE, Assam portal. The application must be submitted online within the specified dates. Candidates should ensure all information provided is accurate and complete to avoid cancellation.
After the final submission of the online application form, applicants must take a printout of the submitted form. This print copy, along with necessary copies of all required certificates and documents, must be submitted to the concerned Registrar, Principal, or Head of the Institute for verification.
The committee at the College/ University level will compile and verify the application forms. After verification, the head of the institution will submit the valid online applications along with all documents to the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019 on or before 6 December 2025.
