BSNL Recruitment 2026
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has released the official notification for the direct recruitment of 100 Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) posts from the open market. Eligible engineering graduates can submit their online applications through the official BSNL examination portal from 4 June 2026 to 3 July 2026. The selection will be made through a Computer-Based Test (CBT), tentatively scheduled for August 2026.
JTO is a Circle Cadre post, and recruitment is being done centrally to fill vacancies across 21 BSNL Circles. Candidates get appointed to a Circle based on their preference and merit in the examination. Pay Scale: IDA pay scale [E-1] of ₹16400 – ₹40500 (2nd PRC pay scale w.e.f. 01-01-2007)
Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology (IT), or Instrumentation. Candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) or M.Sc. (Computer Science) are also eligible. Those holding higher qualifications, such as M.Tech in the prescribed disciplines, may also apply.
Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years as on the closing date of receipt of application. Upper age relaxation applies to reserved categories, PwBD, and BSNL employees as per Government rules. You can calculate your age here to confirm your eligibility.
Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply. Applicants must be capable of distinguishing principal colours and should have binocular vision.

Candidates can provide choices for all 21 Circles in order of preference during registration. Opting for more Circles improves the chance of selection based on marks secured. If a candidate selects fewer Circles, the candidature will be considered only for those Circles. Options once exercised are final and cannot be changed later.

The fee is payable only through online mode, such as Internet Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card on the BSNL examination website. Once paid, the fee will not be refunded under any circumstances and cannot be held in reserve for any other examination.
Selection Process
Candidates have to undergo a Computer-Based Multiple Choice Objective Type Test of 3 hours duration. The test has three sectional papers: Engineering Stream Section-I, Engineering Stream Section-II, and General Ability Test Section-III. The exam carries 480 marks across 120 questions, with each correct answer awarded 4 marks and a deduction of 1 mark for each wrong answer.

The minimum qualifying marks are 40% in each section and 50% overall for UR and OBC (CL) candidates. SC/ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, and EWS candidates get a relaxation, with 35% in each section and 45% overall combined. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in all three sections, provided the candidate secures the minimum qualifying marks.
Bond, Training and Probation
Selected candidates will execute a bond of ₹6 Lakhs to serve BSNL for a period of at least five years from the date of appointment. The probation period is two years. Training includes JTO Phase-I (10 weeks), Field Training (4 weeks), and JTO Phase-II specialisation course (6 weeks).
