Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, has released an official advertisement inviting online applications for 133 contractual posts under the Adult and Pediatric Haematolymphoid Unit. Eligibility Criteria for BBCI Recruitment 2026
1. Staff Nurse (64 Posts)
Qualification: General Nursing & Midwifery plus Diploma in Oncology Nursing, OR Basic / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. The degree/diploma must be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council. Candidates must be eligible to register with INC / State Nursing Council.
Experience: Minimum 1-year clinical experience in a 50-bedded hospital. Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory. Clinical experience gained before Post Basic B.Sc. will also be counted.
Age Limit: Up to 29 years. Age relaxation of 5 years is available for in-service candidates of TMC. You can check your age eligibility here.
2. Staff Nurse Grade II (42 Posts)
Qualification: General Nursing & Midwifery plus Diploma in Oncology Nursing, OR B.Sc. Nursing, OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized university. Candidates must be eligible to register with Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council.
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience in a 100-bedded hospital. Hepatitis B vaccination is mandatory. Candidates with administrative experience, a hospital administration course, or oncology experience will be preferred.
Age Limit: Up to 34 years (5 years relaxable for in-service TMC candidates).
3. Leading Fireman (03 Posts)
Qualification: 12th pass or equivalent. Candidates must have completed fire training from a State Fire Service Academy, OR hold a Diploma in Fire & Safety recognized by a Technical Education Board or State Government, with 3 years of working experience in any industry, hospital, or hotel. Preference will be given to those with knowledge of Conventional and Addressable firefighting systems and Suppression systems.
Physical Standards: Minimum height of 167 cm (General) or 165 cm (candidates from hill areas of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh, North Eastern States, and Sikkim). Chest measurements: 80 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded) for all categories.
Driving License: A valid driving license for LMV and Two Wheelers is required.
Age Limit: Minimum 25 years, maximum 30 years (5 years relaxable for in-service TMC candidates).
4. Attendant (10 Posts)
Qualification: 10th pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in filing, record keeping, dispatch work, operating photocopying machines, general office assistance, and cleaning.
Age Limit: Up to 24 years (5 years relaxable for in-service TMC candidates).
5. Trade Helper (10 Posts)
Qualification: 10th pass or equivalent from a recognized board.
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of equipment in Operation Theatre, ICU, Diagnostics services, Laboratory, Engineering departments, or general office work.
Age Limit: Up to 24 years (5 years relaxable for in-service TMC candidates).
6. Clerk Telephone Operator (04 Posts)
Qualification: Graduate from a recognized university with a Telephone Operator’s Course.
Experience: Minimum 1-year experience handling an exchange board, preferably EPBAX, in a reputed institute or hospital. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to converse in English, Hindi, and a local language.
Age Limit: Up to 26 years (5 years relaxable for in-service TMC candidates).
Selection Process for BBCI Recruitment 2026
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience. Eligible candidates will be called for a Written Examination (MCQ / Subjective), Skill Test, and/or Interview. The written exam carries 100 marks and will cover questions related to the respective specialization, general knowledge, numerical aptitude, and current affairs.
The exact mode of selection may vary depending on the number of candidates shortlisted. The list of shortlisted candidates for the MCQ / VIVA will be published on the official BBCI website. Candidates should check the website regularly for updates. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
Note: This is a contractual appointment for 6 months, extendable based on performance till co-terminus with the project. Candidates have no right to claim permanent employment in BBCI or continuation in any other project of the institute.
