Bank of Maharashtra has released a recruitment notification for the vacancies of Generalist Officer in Scale II for the project year 2025-26. Eligibility Criteria for Generalist Officer
Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria regarding education, experience, and age as of the cut-off date, which is the 31st of July 2025. Fulfilling the minimum criteria does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for the selection process.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following essential qualifications. As per the notification, the required qualification must be from a University or Institute recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
Essential: A Bachelor’s degree or Integrated Dual Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate across all semesters/years is required. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, or PwBD categories, the minimum required marks are 55%. Alternatively, candidates who are a Chartered Accountant (CA) are also eligible to apply.
Desirable: Professional qualifications such as CMA, CFA, or ICWA from a recognized institution are desirable. Additionally, passing the JAIIB & CAIIB exams is also considered a desirable qualification.
Experience
Applicants must have a post-qualification work experience of 3 years as an officer in any Scheduled Public Sector Bank or Scheduled Private Sector Bank. The experience must be as a permanent, full-time employee. Experience in credit-related areas or as a Branch Head/In-charge is preferable.
Age Limit
As of the 31st of July 2025, candidates must be a minimum of 22 years of age and a maximum of 35 years of age. The bank provides relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government guidelines.

Salary and Emoluments
Selected candidates will be placed in Scale II of the officer cadre. The applicable pay scale is ₹64820–2340/1–67160–2680/10–93960. In addition to the basic pay, officers are eligible for various allowances such as Dearness Allowance (D.A.), House Rent Allowance (H.R.A) or Lease Rental, City Compensatory Allowance (C.C.A.), Medical Aid, and other perquisites as per the bank’s rules in force from time to time.
Selection Process
The selection process for the Generalist Officer position will consist of two stages. The first stage is an Online Examination, and candidates who are successful will be called for the second stage, which is an Interview. Candidates will be called for the interview in a ratio of 1:3 based on their ranking in the online test. The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores of the online exam and interview, with a weightage of 75:25 respectively.
