Bank of Baroda has released an official recruitment notification for 2,482 Local Bank Officer posts in Junior Management Grade/Scale-I. The vacancies are distributed across 20 states, including 40 vacancies in Assam. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications and pay the fee by 17 September 2026.
Last Date Extended: The addendum dated 7 September 2026 extends the application and fee-payment last date from 7 September to 17 September 2026, up to 11:59 PM. The online test is tentatively scheduled for the first week of October 2026. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognized by the Government of India, government bodies or AICTE.
Preferred Certifications: The Bank has listed IC 38, NISM Series V-A, NISM Series XXI-A and NISM Series XIII among its preferred certifications. These certifications are desirable and have not been listed as mandatory qualifications.
Experience: Candidates must have at least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India. Clerical experience will not be considered.
Experience Calculation: Experience of less than six months with an organization will not count unless it forms part of the candidate’s current employment. Candidates will have to produce an experience certificate and an employer-certified job profile. The job profile must substantially match that of a Scale-I officer of Bank of Baroda; otherwise, the application may be rejected.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1 August 2026.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC-NCL candidates. PwBD candidates receive a relaxation of 10 years for General/EWS, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST. Eligible ex-servicemen, including ECOs/SSCOs, receive 5 years for General/EWS, 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST. They must have at least 5 years of military service and satisfy the release conditions specified in the notification, including the provision for assignments due to end within one year of the application last date.
Who Cannot Apply: Existing Bank of Baroda employees in the officer cadre or on contract are not eligible. Former employees who resigned from an officer-grade position or left contractual employment in the Bank within the preceding 3 years as on 1 August 2026 are also ineligible.
Nationality: Indian citizens are eligible. The notification also permits subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1 January 1962, and specified persons of Indian origin who migrated to settle permanently in India, subject to the Government of India eligibility certificate and conditions in Clause 11.
Application Fee: General, OBC and EWS candidates must pay ₹850. The fee for SC, ST, PwBD, ESM, DESM and women candidates is ₹175. These amounts include GST under the notification’s fee schedule, while applicable payment gateway charges must be paid separately. The fee is non-refundable.
Local Language: Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language of the state for which they apply. Applicants for Assam must be proficient in Assamese or Bodo.
Pay Scale: ₹48,480-2,000/7-62,480-2,340/2-67,160-2,680/7-85,920, along with applicable allowances and benefits under the Bank’s policies.
Advance Increment: One advance increment will be granted to selected candidates having at least one year of experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank.
Place of Posting: Selected candidates will be posted within the state for which they apply for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV, whichever is earlier. Thereafter, they may be posted anywhere in India.
Probation: Selected candidates will remain on probation for 12 months of active service from the date of joining.
Service Bond: A selected candidate must serve the Bank for at least three years. A candidate leaving earlier may have to pay an amount equal to three months’ gross salary, subject to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, under the prevailing policy.

English Language Condition: For Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, English is accepted as the local language only if the candidate studied and passed English as a subject at a school located in the respective state.

PwBD Vacancies in Assam: Within the 40 vacancies, 2 are earmarked for locomotor disability and 2 for hearing impairment. These are not additional posts. Eligible candidates must have the prescribed benchmark disability and a valid certificate. Temporary disabilities marked “likely to improve” are not eligible for reservation under the notification.
Reservation Certificates: OBC candidates must belong to the Central List and the non-creamy layer. EWS candidates need the prescribed Income and Asset Certificate. Candidates claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD benefits must produce the applicable certificates in the prescribed format.
Note: A candidate can apply for only one state. The merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise.
Selection Process of Bank of Baroda Recruitment
Online Test: The tentative online examination pattern contains 120 questions carrying 120 marks. Candidates will receive 120 minutes, with a separate 30-minute duration for each section.

Negative Marking: A penalty of 0.25 marks will apply for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.
Test Language and Qualifying Marks: The English Language section is qualifying in nature, and its marks will not be included in the final merit list. Other sections are available in English and Hindi. The Bank will decide the minimum sectional and overall qualifying marks and may modify the examination structure.
Language Proficiency Test: Candidates shortlisted through the online examination must qualify a test covering reading, writing, speaking and understanding of the prescribed local language. Candidates who studied that language as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12 can produce the relevant certificate and will not have to take the test.
Psychometric Test: The Bank may conduct a psychometric test or another suitable assessment to examine personality, communication, problem-solving ability, efficiency and suitability for the post. The selection stages may be modified by the Bank.
Group Discussion and Interview: Candidates may be called for a Group Discussion, Personal Interview or another assessment selected by the Bank. The minimum qualifying marks are 60% for General category candidates and 55% for reserved category candidates.
Final Selection: Candidates must qualify every stage adopted by the Bank. Final selection will depend on their combined performance, category, merit position, and the number of state-wise vacancies. Appointment is subject to document verification, medical fitness and completion of joining formalities.
Exam Centres in Assam: The tentative centres are Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Dibrugarh and Tezpur. The Bank may change the centres, and the allotted venue will be shown in the call letter. Requests for a change of centre will not be accepted.
Scribe and Compensatory Time: Eligible candidates requiring a scribe or compensatory time must indicate this in the application and provide the prescribed certificates and undertaking. The notification allows 20 minutes per examination hour, or as otherwise advised, for eligible candidates. A candidate’s scribe must not be appearing in the same examination.

Multiple Applications: Candidates should submit only one application. If multiple applications are submitted, only the latest valid and completed application will be retained, while fees paid for the other registrations will be forfeited.
