Assam Police Question Paper
The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam conducts the written test for Constable and Sub-Inspector posts, and it releases the question booklets of every set after the examination is over. We have collected those papers along with their answer keys on this page so that candidates preparing for the next Assam Police written test can practise from the real papers instead of guesswork.
Three examinations are covered here. The Sub-Inspector written test of 5 January 2025, the combined written test of 11 August 2019 that was held in a morning and an afternoon shift, and the Constable (AB & UB) written test of 6 April 2025, for which SLPRB published the question booklets and provisional answer keys on 14 April 2025. Every paper is available in all four series, from Series A to Series D.
SLPRB is yet to announce the written test date for the recruitment cycle now in progress, which gives candidates a long practice window. Candidates in that cycle should also keep track of the Assam Police Admit Card updates, since the PST, PET and written test each have a separate admit card.

Assam Police Written Exam Pattern
The Constable paper and the Sub-Inspector paper look similar on the surface, but they are marked very differently. Knowing which one you are solving matters, because the guessing strategy changes completely between the two.
| Paper | Questions | Total Marks | Negative Marking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Constable (AB & UB) | 100 | 50 | Nil |
| Sub-Inspector | 100 | 100 | 0.5 mark |
Note: In the Constable paper, each correct answer carries 0.5 mark and nothing is deducted for a wrong answer, so no question should be left blank. In the Sub-Inspector paper, each correct answer carries 1 mark and 0.5 mark is deducted for every wrong answer, so a blind guess costs you. The marking scheme printed in the current official notification always prevails.

How to Practise with These Papers
Step 1: Solve one full paper in a single sitting with a timer, on an OMR-style sheet if you can arrange one. The written test is offline and OMR based, so filling bubbles under time pressure is a skill worth building before the exam day.
Step 2: Check your responses against the answer key of the same series, then sort your wrong answers into two piles, the ones you did not know and the ones you knew but misread. The second pile is where most marks are lost.
Step 3: Mark the Assam-specific questions separately. Assam history, geography, polity and state current affairs return in every SLPRB paper, and this is the section where a well-prepared candidate pulls ahead of the crowd.
