Assam Navodaya Admission
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially released the notification for the selection test for the upcoming Navodaya Admission 2027-28 for Class VI. Students aspiring to study at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) must submit an online application for this selection test, known as JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test). Annually, NVS conducts JNVST to identify and select deserving students for admission into Class VI. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, established by the Government of India, offer various facilities aimed at helping meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their academic dreams.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Navodaya Admission
District: Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission.
Age Limit: A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 1st May 2015 and after 31st July 2017 (both dates are inclusive). This will apply to candidates of all categories.
Current Study: A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2026-27 in a Government or Government recognized school in the same district where he/she is seeking admission.
Previous Admission: A candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 31st July 2026 is not eligible to apply.
Attempt Limit: No candidate is eligible to appear in the selection test for the second time, under any circumstances.
What is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test?
As we know, the seats available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are limited. To address this issue, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti conducts a selection-based examination known as the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Admission to JNVs is approved by NVS based on the marks obtained in JNVST. JNVST is the primary process for admission into Navodaya Vidyalayas.
Composition of JNV Selection Test
The selection test will be of two-hour duration from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM and will have 3 sections with only objective-type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks. For more, check Navodaya Question Papers.
