HS 1st Year Admission 2024
Students who have recently passed the HSLC or equivalent examination and are willing to take admission in HS 1st Year (Class XI) under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will have to submit online applications through the official admission portal of the council. The online admission portal of AHSEC is called the DARPAN Admission Portal. Using the Darpan Portal, students can take admissions digitally without visiting the institutions.

HS 1st Year Admission Fee Details
As per the official notification, the Assam Higher Secondary 1st year admission fee was waived by the Assam government and all students will able to get admissions at government-recognized institutions at zero fee. Assam HS 1st year online admission will be free of cost and all eligible students will not have to pay any fee to get admission.

How to Complete HS 1st Year Admission Process?
Students who fulfil all the required eligibility criteria to get admission in AHSEC HS 1st year can submit their online applications on the official portal of AHSEC. Also, a video guide and some steps to apply online are given below, students can follow the following steps to complete their admission process.

| A portal will load, click on the Register a New Account link. |
| On the next one, you need to choose the college, course type and other details you want. |
| Upload scan copy of the photograph, marksheet and other necessary documents. |
| After filling in and verifying all the details, you have to click on the submit button. |
| After applying, keep the system-generated acknowledgement for future use. |
| Check the portal regularly for updates. You will be informed through the portal which institute (s) you have been selected for admission. |

Students must keep the following listed documents ready in JPG, JPEG or PNG file format before proceeding with the online application. Also, the size of the file should be a maximum of 1 MB.

How to Edit Submitted Application?
Students who have submitted their applications and after that they found errors in their application can edit their application details within the portal without panic. Students are advised to follow the steps listed below to edit their application.

| Login using your Mobile Number, Date of Birth and 4-Digit PIN. |
| Click on the Profile option on the left. |
| Now, all your registration details will be loaded. |
| Click on the red Edit Profile option. |
| Refill all the correct details of the registration form including photograph and marksheet. |
| After that submit that form by clicking on RESUBMIT PROFILE button. |
| That’s it, your profile has been successfully corrected. |

Assam HS 1st Year Admission Merit List
The students will get seats in the schools/ colleges according to their performance in the Assam HSLC Examination, 2024. A student can submit his/her application to multiple institutions for admission. The institute-wise merit list of selected students will be published on the same portal after a few days of the application. As per the official notification, the council will release the merit list on 5th May 2024 at Midnight. After the release of the merit list, students will have to go to the DARPAN Portal and select the school/ college of their choice. Note that Institute selection is a one-time and irreversible process so all of you are advised to proceed cautiously. Also, students can change their subjects as they wish with the help of their respective institutes.
How to Check Admission Merit List?
Students who have submitted their online applications for admission into Higher Secondary 1st year under Assam Higher Secondary Education Council will be able to check their admission merit list after the official release. The merit list will be prepared by the colleges and schools based on their performance in the HSLC examination. AHSEC has asked all the colleges and schools to prepare their merit list within the stipulated time frame. Also, AHSEC notified that the merit list for HS 1st year admission will be published on the DARPAN portal and students will be able to check it by logging into the portal. Students can follow the easy steps listed below to get their merit list.

| A portal will load, enter your Mobile Number, Date of Birth and Security PIN and click Login. |
| After that, a dashboard will load. Click on the Application Submitted button. |
| Now, you will see the names of all your applied colleges/ schools. |
| Check below the name of the college/school, you will get the details about your admission request. |
| If you are selected, click on the Accept Admission Request link and accept your admission into the desired college/ school. |
