Assam HS 1st Year Admission 2026
The DARPAN admission portal has been reopened for HS 1st Year admission for the academic session 2026-27. This reopening is specifically for students who appeared in the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2026 and have now cleared it. ASSEB, Division-II issued the official notification on 23 June 2026, the same day the compartmental result was declared. The portal is accepting applications from 24 June 2026 to 4 July 2026.
The HSLC Compartmental Examination Result 2026 was declared by ASSEB, Division-I (erstwhile SEBA) on 23 June 2026 at 11 AM. Out of 62,571 students who appeared, 32,931 candidates cleared the examination, recording an overall pass percentage of 52.63%. Students who passed can now apply for Class XI admission through the DARPAN portal within the window given above.
Note: This reopening is for HSLC Compartmental 2026 passers only. Students who have already completed admission through the first round (April 2026) are not required to apply again. Offline admission is not allowed under any circumstances.

About the HSLC Compartmental Result 2026
ASSEB declared the HSLC Compartmental Examination Result 2026 on 23 June 2026. A total of 64,051 candidates had registered for the exam, of whom 62,571 appeared. Of those, 32,931 passed, giving an overall pass percentage of 52.63%. Female candidates passed at a slightly higher rate (53.49%) compared to male candidates (51.33%). South Salmara-Mankachar was the best-performing district with a pass percentage of 80.04%.
Students can access their marksheets through the official ASSEB website and mobile application. ASSEB has confirmed that admissions to Class XI can be carried out on the basis of digitally verified marksheets.
What Students Should Do Now
Students who cleared the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2026 need to log in to the DARPAN portal and apply for admission to their preferred institutions. You can apply to a maximum of five institutions. Once institutions prepare their selection lists, you will need to accept the admission offer of one institution through the portal itself.
Subject change is allowed at the time of admission. If you want a different stream or subject combination, inform the institution on the day of your admission, and they will update it in DARPAN. The entire admission process, from applying to confirmation, must be completed by 9 July 2026.
Note: Institution selection is a one-time and irreversible process. Once you accept an admission offer at a school or college through DARPAN, it cannot be changed. Think carefully before confirming.
How to Apply for HS 1st Year Admission on DARPAN Portal
Follow these steps to register and apply for HS 1st Year admission through the DARPAN portal.

| Click on the student registration option and enter your HSLC Compartmental Roll Code and Roll Number. |
| Fill in your personal details: name, date of birth, and mobile number. |
| Upload your passport-size photograph and HSLC Compartmental Marksheet in the required format. |
| Create a 4-digit PIN. You will use this PIN along with your mobile number and date of birth to log in later. |
| Select up to 5 institutions you wish to apply to and submit your application. |
| After the merit list is published, log in again and check your application status against each institution. |
| If selected, click the Accept Admission Request link for your chosen institution and confirm. Save or print the acknowledgement. |
Confirmation of Admission by Institutions
After a student accepts the admission offer on DARPAN, the institution must physically verify documents and then confirm the admission through its institution login on the portal. ASSEB has set a fine of ₹5,000 per day for any institution that fails to confirm admissions within the stipulated timeframe. Students should visit the institution with all original documents on the date informed by the school or college.

Gap Year Candidates
The Gap Permission Certificate from ASSEB, Division-II has been discontinued from the 2025-26 session onwards. Students with a study gap can be admitted directly by the institution after verifying documents and assessing eligibility. These cases do not need to be referred to ASSEB, Division-II. If you have a gap, carry relevant documents, a gap certificate, or an affidavit at the time of physical verification.
