Assam ANM Admission 2026
Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) has issued the official notification for the ANM Entrance Examination, 2026 for admission into government ANM training schools of Assam. The admission process covers 369 seats for the session 2026-27 under the Directorate of Health Services (Family Welfare), Assam. Eligible female candidates can submit their online applications from 15 September to 5 October 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for SSUHS ANM Admission
Nationality and Residence: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. A certificate supporting permanent residency must be furnished.
Gender: Admission to the ANM course is restricted to female candidates.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HS/10+2 after 12 years of schooling from a recognised board or a recognised equivalent examination. The notice does not prescribe a specific stream or minimum percentage of marks.
Age Limit: Candidates must attain 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026. The maximum age for admission is 35 years.
Age Relaxation: The maximum age is relaxed to 42 years for Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and trained dais.
Medical Fitness: Admission is subject to a satisfactory medical examination report.

ANM Entrance Exam Pattern and Syllabus

Marking Scheme: Each question carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking for wrong answers, and unanswered questions carry zero marks.
Language: Questions will be in English and Assamese. Candidates must fill in the OMR sheet in English only.

Selection and Counselling for Assam ANM Admission
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the entrance examination. If candidates secure equal marks, preference will be given first to higher marks in English, then General Science, and then Mathematics in the entrance examination. If the tie continues, English marks in the qualifying examination will be considered at counselling.
Permission to appear in the entrance examination is provisional. The competent authority will verify eligibility and relevant documents, including reservation claims, during counselling after the result is declared. False or incomplete information, or ineligibility detected at a later stage, will lead to disqualification.
Seat Distribution and Reservation: Reservation will follow government norms. DHS (FW), Assam will notify the distribution and reservation of seats and admission details separately.
