APSC Recruitment 2026
The Assam Public Service Commission has released Advertisement No. 11/2026 on 3 August 2026 for the recruitment of 137 Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO) posts under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Assam. Online applications will be accepted from 7 August 2026 to 6 September 2026, and the fee can be paid up to 8 September 2026.
This is one of the largest single-cadre vacancies APSC has advertised for veterinary graduates, and 41 of the 137 posts are reserved for women across all categories. The selected candidates will be placed in Pay Band 4 with a pay scale of ₹30,000 to ₹1,10,000 and Grade Pay of ₹12,700, along with the usual allowances admissible to Assam Government employees.

Posts for PwBD: 4 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, one each for Blindness & Low Vision, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Locomotor Disability and Autism. To be considered under this category you must have a benchmark disability of 40% or more, certified by the competent authority. Candidates with less than 40% disability will not get any PwBD relaxation.
Posts for Ex-Servicemen: 2 posts. Ex-servicemen applicants have to upload the Ex-Servicemen Identity Card issued by the Zila Sainik Welfare Office of Assam along with the Discharge Book.

The 10-year relaxation for PwBD candidates applies irrespective of whether they belong to SC, ST, OBC or the Unreserved category. For ex-servicemen, the limit of 50 years is further relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Note: Age will be calculated only from the Class X or Class XII Admit Card, Pass Certificate or Marksheet issued by a recognized Central or State Board where the date of birth is clearly printed. No other document is accepted as age proof.
Application Fee
Along with the application fee, every candidate has to pay a processing fee of ₹47.20 charged by CSC-SPV, which is why even fee-exempt candidates pay a small amount.

To claim the fee relaxation, you must produce the certificate of the claimed category issued by the competent authority. An application submitted without the prescribed fee is summarily rejected, and no representation against such rejection is entertained. The fee once paid is not refunded under any circumstance and cannot be carried forward to another examination. In case of a double debit for the same transaction, the bank refunds the extra amount within 5 to 7 working days.
Selection Process of APSC Recruitment 2026
APSC has not announced the selection procedure with this advertisement. The Commission will notify it later through a corrigendum or addendum, and it will decide the mode of selection after considering the status, cadre and grade of the post and the number of applications received.
