APGCL Recruitment 2026

The Assam Public Service Commission has released two recruitment notifications for Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL) in 2026. Advertisement No. 09/2026 covers 35 Assistant Manager posts, and Advertisement No. 10/2026 covers 31 Junior Manager posts, which together bring 66 vacancies in the state power sector. Both notifications are open only to Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Assam.

The two posts sit at different levels. Assistant Manager is a degree-level post for engineering and MBA graduates, carrying a pay scale of ₹37,300 to ₹1,12,000 with a grade pay of ₹14,200. Junior Manager is a diploma-level post for diploma engineers, carrying a pay scale of ₹25,000 to ₹92,000 with a grade pay of ₹12,100. Educational Qualification

Assistant Manager is a degree-level post, and Junior Manager is a diploma-level post. Every branch requires a full-time course from a Government or AICTE-approved University, Polytechnic or Institution. The engineering branches ask for a minimum of 60% marks, relaxed to 50% for SC and ST candidates.

Assistant Manager (Mechanical): B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Assistant Manager (Instrumentation): B.E/B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering.

Assistant Manager (IT): B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology.

Assistant Manager (Civil): B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

Assistant Manager (HR): Two-year full-time MBA/PGDM with specialization in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management or Industrial Relations from an AICTE or UGC-approved Indian University, with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC and ST candidates).

Junior Manager (Electrical): Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Junior Manager (Mechanical): Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

Junior Manager (IT): Diploma in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Technology.

Junior Manager (Instrumentation): Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering.

Junior Manager (Civil): Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Note: The degree course must be of minimum four years after HSSLC or three years after a full-time diploma, and the diploma course must be of minimum three years after HSLC or a 2+2 lateral pathway from a Government or AICTE-approved institution.

Age Limit

For ex-servicemen, the maximum age of 50 years for the Unreserved category is further relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. The age is calculated from the Class X or Class XII admit card, pass certificate or marksheet, and no other document is accepted as age proof.

A processing fee of ₹47.20 charged by CSC-SPV is added to each category, which is why even the exempted categories pay ₹47.20. The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances. The last date to pay the fee is 23 August 2026 for Junior Manager and 25 August 2026 for Assistant Manager.

Selection Process

The Assam Public Service Commission has stated that the selection procedure for both posts will be notified later through a corrigendum or addendum, depending on the status, cadre and grade of the post and the number of applications received. The Commission may also conduct the examination or test zone-wise across the six zones of Assam, based on the number of candidates against each district.
