The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-II (erstwhile AHSEC) has issued a notification (No. ASSEB/DIV-II/EXB/MISC/2018/63(II)/561 dated 28 April 2026) explaining the procedure for Re-checking of Answer Scripts along with obtaining the Scanned Copy of Answer Script for the Higher Secondary Final Examination 2026. Candidates who are not satisfied with their marks can apply online and also receive a scanned copy of their evaluated answer scripts by paying ₹500 per subject.
The HS Final Examination 2026 result has been declared on 28 April 2026 at 10:30 AM through the official website. The application portal for re-checking and scanned copy will open on 1 May 2026 (two days after the declaration of result) and remain active for 15 days. ASSEB HS Result Rechecking Details
Exam Name: Higher Secondary Final Examination 2026
Board: Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-II (erstwhile AHSEC)
Application Fee: ₹500 per subject (theory question papers only). Fee has to be paid through online mode only.
Result Declaration of Re-checking: Within 30 days from the last date of receipt of application
Scanned Copy Delivery: Sent to the candidate’s registered email after blocking the identity of the examiner, evaluator, and any other officials associated with the evaluation process.
What is Included in Re-checking?
Candidates must note that re-checking does not mean re-evaluation of the answer script. The Board has clearly defined what re-checking covers under this process.
1. Re-totaling of marks awarded by the examiner across all questions in the answer script.
2. Assessment of any answer that has been left out unevaluated by the examiner.
3. Correction of wrong entry of marks of any manner or nature in the marks-sheet.
Note: If a candidate’s marks are reduced after re-checking, the reduced marks will be considered as final marks and the Certificate Marks-Sheet will be prepared accordingly. Candidates should apply only after careful consideration.

The fee structure is straightforward and the same for every theory subject. There is no concession based on category, gender, or stream. Practical papers are not covered under this service.

Revised Marks-Sheet After Rechecking
If marks change after re-checking, the candidate must submit the original Certificate Marks-Sheet at the Board’s office, with intimation from the Head of the Institution. The revised Certificate Marks-Sheet will be issued only at the Board’s office and not sent directly to the school, candidate, or through any other agency.
The revised Certificate Marks-Sheet must be collected within 30 days from the declaration of re-checking results. After this period, the Board will not issue the revised marks-sheet.
Things to Know Before Applying
The Board has laid down clear conditions that every applicant has to accept while submitting the form. Candidates should read these points carefully before paying the fee.
Confidentiality of Answer Scripts: Answer scripts are confidential documents and do not come under the purview of the RTI Act, 2005 prior to the declaration of re-checked results. A separate RTI application is not required.
Restriction on Public Display: The candidate has to give an undertaking that the scanned copy of the answer script will not be shared with any institution, school, print media, or electronic media for display or commercial purpose. Violation of this condition will lead to legal action.
No Court Challenge: The scanned copy of the evaluated answer script cannot be challenged in any court of law, and the candidate cannot make any claim on this account in any forum.
Final Decision: The decision of the competent authority of the Board on the marks awarded shall be final and binding on the candidate.
Identity Masking: The scanned copy provided to the candidate will have all information related to the examiner, evaluator, and other officials blocked, including their marked notations on the script.
