The Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Assam, serves as the implementing body for the Department of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare. This Directorate is responsible for implementing a wide array of schemes aimed at benefiting the tea tribes and Adivasi communities. These schemes cover various areas, including scholarships for students from school to college level, initiatives for skills development and entrepreneurship, start-up grants-in-aid for self-employment, and grants-in-aid for women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs), among others. Each year, the Directorate of Tea Tribes Welfare facilitates online applications for these diverse scholarship and incentive schemes through its official portal, known as SIRISH.

List of SIRISH Schemes
Candidates from the Tea Tribes community who meet the eligibility criteria for these schemes can submit their applications on the SIRISH portal. The Department of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare provides a wide variety of schemes designed to benefit almost the entire community, encouraging broad participation and advantage.
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship
Students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities who are currently studying in Class IX or X are eligible to apply for the Pre-Matric Scholarship scheme through the official SIRISH web portal. Under this scheme, eligible candidates will receive financial assistance of ₹3,000/- to support their studies.
The online applications for this scheme will be accepted from 1st June 2025 to 16th July 2025.
2. Post-Matric Scholarship
Students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities currently studying in Class XI, XII, or Bachelor’s Degree courses are eligible to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme through the official SIRISH web portal. This scheme provides financial assistance for their studies, with eligible candidates receiving ₹5,000/- for Class XI or XII and ₹7,000/- for Bachelor’s Degree courses.
3. Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship
Students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities who have successfully cleared their HSLC or HSSLC examinations this year from the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) or an equivalent education board recognized by the Government of Assam are eligible to apply for the Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship scheme. Applications for this scheme are submitted through the official SIRISH web portal. Under this scholarship, eligible candidates will receive a one-time incentive of ₹10,000/- as financial assistance to support their further studies.
The online applications for this scheme will be accepted from 1st June 2025 to 16th July 2025.
4. Financial Assistance for Higher Studies
Students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities who are pursuing higher studies such as MBBS, MBA, Engineering, and other technical or higher education programs, including those in Administration, Medical, Engineering, Law, Research & Education, both within and outside the State/Country, are eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance for Higher Studies scheme. Applications for this scheme are submitted through the official SIRISH web portal. Under this scheme, eligible candidates will receive financial assistance ranging from ₹25,000/- to ₹35,000/-, with the exact amount depending on the course type, to support their studies.
5. Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/Technical Courses
Students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi communities who are pursuing training in ANM, GNM, Para-Medical, or other job-assured technical and professional Diploma & Degree courses with a minimum duration of one year are eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/Technical Courses scheme. This applies to training in both Government and Non-Government Institutes. Applications for this scheme are submitted through the official SIRISH web portal. Under this scheme, eligible candidates will receive financial assistance ranging from ₹4,000/- to ₹20,000/-, with the exact amount based on the course type, to support their studies.
6. Coaching for Higher Studies
The Coaching for Higher Studies scheme is designed to provide coaching to students from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community, helping them prepare for various competitive examinations. This includes exams like Civil Services, Medical, Engineering, Staff Selection Committee (Graduate level), Banking (Probationary Officers), and others. The goal is to enable these students to compete effectively and succeed. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications for this scheme using the official SIRISH web portal. Shortlisted candidates will receive free coaching for their respective examinations under this scheme.
7. Grants to Women SHGs
The Grants to Women SHGs scheme aims to provide financial assistance in the form of grants to women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs) belonging to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community. This financial support is intended to be used for undertaking income generation activities, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of their family income and livelihood. Women SHGs can submit their online applications for this scheme using the official SIRISH web portal. Selected SHGs will receive financial assistance of ₹25,000/-, which will be disbursed through e-transfer or direct bank transfer into their respective bank accounts.
8. Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni
The Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni aims to provide financial assistance to self-employed youths from the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community in Assam. This scheme is designed to encourage and support them in initiating or enhancing their self-employment activities, ultimately boosting their capabilities. Eligible candidates can submit online applications for this scheme using the official SIRISH web portal. Selected candidates will receive financial assistance of ₹25,000/- under this scheme.
