Assam VFA Admission 2025
The Directorate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Assam, published an official notification on 12th June 2025 regarding admission to the one-year VFA Training Course. This course, focused on Elementary Knowledge of A.H. & Veterinary Science for the 2024-25 Session, will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H. at Ghungoor, Silchar, Assam, and its extended campuses. Eligible and interested candidates who are permanent residents of Assam can submit their online applications for the Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) to be conducted for admission into these courses.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) in the Science stream, with Biology as a compulsory subject, from a recognized University/Board.
Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 30 years old as of 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, 5 years for SC, ST(P), and ST(H) candidates.
Application Fee: There will be no application fee for all the categories of candidates.
How to Apply: If you meet all the eligibility requirements and wish to apply for the VFA training course, you can submit your application online through the official web portal. During the application process, ensure you have scanned copies of the following documents ready for upload: your passport-size photograph, signature, HSLC Certificate or Admit Card, Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), HSLC (or equivalent) Marksheet, HSSLC (Science stream) Marksheet, and a Caste Certificate or EWS Certificate if you are applying for a reserved category.
VFA Admission Selection Procedure
The selection of candidates for admission into the one-year VFA Training Course follows a specific procedure approved by the Government of Assam:
1. Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) and Weightage: After a thorough scrutiny of all applications, eligible candidates are called for a Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) of 100 marks. The final score is calculated based on the following weightage:
- Percentage of marks in HSSLC Science stream with Biology: 40% weightage
- Percentage of marks in HSLC: 20% weightage
- Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) itself: 40% weightage
2. PAT Examination Details: The PAT questions will cover Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General Awareness of state & national importance. The Selection Board, consisting of 2-3 members, will ask five questions per candidate on a rotational basis. Each question carries 4 marks.
3. Final Merit List: A final merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained from the combined (a+b+c) components, subject to the observance of the prevailing reservation policy.
